Support Group Confidentiality Statement

Connection Lab – Support Group Confidentiality Agreement

At Connection Lab, we value trust, safety, and respect. Our support groups are designed to provide a confidential, compassionate, and non-judgmental space for participants.

By joining any Connection Lab support group, you agree to the following:

Confidentiality Commitment

  • What is shared in the group stays in the group

  • Do not share names, stories, experiences, or identifying details of other participants outside the group

  • This applies to in-person, virtual, written, and online discussions

Limits of Confidentiality

While we emphasize confidentiality:

  • Connection Lab cannot guarantee confidentiality if a participant chooses to share information outside the group

  • Facilitators may be required to break confidentiality if there is a credible threat of harm to self or others, or if legally required

Respectful Participation

Participants agree to:

  • Speak from personal experience (“I” statements)

  • Avoid judgment, advice-giving, or correction unless invited

  • Honor cultural, spiritual, and personal differences

  • Maintain a trauma-informed and respectful tone

Not Therapy

Connection Lab support groups are peer-support and educational spaces, not group therapy or counseling.

Participation does not replace professional mental health or medical care.
